The Place2Be is an award winning charity that works inside schools to improve the emotional well-being of children, their families and the whole school community. By giving children the chance to explore their problems through talking, creative work and play, Place2Be enables them to cope now and make better-informed decisions about their lives and help prevent more serious mental health and behavioural problems in later life.
Big Change is supporting a particular area of Place2Be's work and we anticipate that 3,500 children in London (Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwalk and Lambeth) will benefit directly from our involvement.
Place2Talk is Place2Be’s universal service that gives any child the opportunity to make the first crucial step to receiving the help they may need. They simply complete a slip and put it in the Place2Be postbox at school with details of how they are feeling. From there, a Place2Be project manager is able to assess how to help the individual and give them the support they need.
